About Bury Home Companions

Growing up, I watched a family member become increasingly isolated. It wasn't a lack of care. It was a lack of company. Someone to share a cup of tea with. Someone to notice if they seemed a little quieter than usual. Someone who simply showed up.

That's why I started Bury Home Companions.

We're not a call centre, and we're not a franchise rota. We're a small, local team based right here in Bury, and every companion we send is carefully chosen and genuinely there because they want to be. We always aim to send the same familiar face each time, because company only really works when it's someone you know.

If your mum, dad or grandparent could use a friendly visitor, a helping hand, or just someone to notice how they're really doing, we'd love to help.

Yes, we're available 24/7, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

We offer light housekeeping as part of a visit, tidying, laundry, washing up. We're not a deep clean or professional cleaning service.

Every companion meets us in person before they ever meet your family. We check who they are and that they're entitled to work, and we choose people for warmth, patience and reliability first, not just what's on a form.

08My mum or dad says they don't need anyone. What do I do?

That's really common, and it doesn't mean they wouldn't benefit from it. Most families start with a gentle first visit, framed as company rather than care. Give us a call and we can talk through how to raise it.
