Bury Home Companions ("we", "us", "our") provides home companionship services across Bury and Greater Manchester. This policy explains what personal data we collect through buryhomecompanions.co.uk, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

What we collect, and why

Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We only use two categories:

Nothing is set until you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you choose "Reject", no analytics or Facebook cookies are loaded, and the reviews section will show a link to view reviews on Facebook directly instead. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page.
Who we share data with
- Web3Forms — processes enquiry form submissions and forwards them to our email. They do not use the data for any other purpose.
- Google Analytics — if you accept cookies, anonymised usage data is processed by Google under their own privacy terms.
- Meta / Facebook — if you accept cookies, the embedded reviews widget is served by Facebook under their own privacy terms.
We never sell your personal data, and we don't share enquiry details with anyone other than the people directly involved in arranging your care.
How long we keep it
Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to you and, if you go on to use our services, as part of your care records. If your enquiry doesn't lead to a booking, we delete it within 12 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your data, where we're not required to keep it
- Stop using your data for a particular purpose
To exercise any of these, email care@buryhomecompanions.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
